Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 1 2026 — Complete Guide
AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) twice a year to induct officers into the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. It is one of the most prestigious defence officer-level examinations in India, offering candidates the chance to serve in India's premier air force.

Flying Branch

AFCAT to IAF Officer — Selection Process
Step 1: AFCAT Written Exam (CBT)
Online exam as described above. Qualified candidates called for AFSB.
Step 2: AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) — 5-Day Process
Stage 1 (Day 1):
- OIR (Officer Intelligence Rating): Verbal and non-verbal reasoning test
- PPDT (Picture Perception & Discussion Test): Story-writing from a picture + group discussion
- Result announced on Day 1 itself. Candidates who don't clear Stage 1 are sent home.
Stage 2 (Days 2–5) — for Stage 1 qualifiers:
