Last Updated: 5 November 2026

Bihar Police Sub-Inspector (Daroga) — BPSSC Advt. No. 05/2025

The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission advertised 1,799 posts of Police Sub-Inspector in the Home (Police) Department on 23 September 2025 (Advt. No. 05/2025). The post is at Pay Level 6, and the appointing authority is the Deputy Inspector General of Police.

Status (5 November 2026). The recruitment is on hold:

  • Mains cancelled. The Main Written Examination held in two shifts on 27 May 2026 was cancelled by a notice dated 23 September 2026. A new date "will be notified separately".
  • PET on hold. Before that, on 28 August 2026, BPSSC put the Physical Efficiency Test and document verification on hold "until further orders". This followed a Home Department (Police Branch) letter dated 27 August 2026.
  • Not a full cancellation. On 21 September 2026 the commission called social-media claims that the whole recruitment had been cancelled "misleading and baseless".
  • Two candidates removed. On 5 November 2026, after an investigation into alleged malpractice in the preliminary exam, the Economic Offences Unit, Bihar recommended action against two candidates, and BPSSC cancelled their candidature. It said any other candidate found involved would face action too.
