Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce the size of a photo?
Select one or more photos. Choose “Quality” to compress by a percentage, or “Target KB” to make every file fit under a size you enter. Each result shows the old and new size; download one by one or all as a ZIP.
Does compressing reduce image quality?
Lossy formats (JPG, WEBP) remove detail the eye barely notices. At around 70–80% quality most photos look identical while being much smaller. With “Target KB”, the tool keeps the highest quality that fits and, if allowed, makes very large photos slightly smaller instead of blurrier.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression runs in your browser using your device. Files never leave your computer or phone.
Why didn't my PNG get smaller?
PNG is lossless, so it can't drop detail the way JPG or WEBP can. Choose JPG or WEBP as the output format for a much smaller file. Keep PNG for images that need transparency.
How many images can I compress at once?
Up to 20 per batch, with no daily limit. Download them individually or together as a ZIP.
Which is smaller, JPG or WEBP?
At similar visual quality WEBP is usually smaller than JPG. Some older systems and many application forms accept only JPG, so check what your destination allows.
