Why use this image resizer

Exact KB targeting

Set both a minimum and a maximum, like 20–50 KB. Many tools only cap the maximum, and forms also reject files that are too small.

Real print sizes

Work in cm, mm or inches with your chosen DPI, for photo prints and passport-style sizes.

Private by design

No uploads, no accounts, no watermarks. Your photo never leaves your phone or computer.

Sharp results

Step-wise downsampling keeps small outputs crisp instead of blurry or jagged.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image to a specific KB size?

Choose “File size”, enter the maximum KB (and a minimum if your form has one), and download. The tool searches for the best quality that fits. If quality alone can't reach the size, it reduces the dimensions a little until it does.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Resizing, compressing and encoding all happen inside your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to ExamDetail or any other server.

Can I resize a photo in cm or inches?

Yes. Switch the unit to cm, mm or inch and set the resolution (DPI). The pixel size is calculated from both, and JPG files carry the DPI so print software shows the right physical size.

Will resizing reduce quality?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp; the tool downsamples in steps to avoid jagged edges. Enlarging cannot add detail that isn't there, so very large increases will look soft.

What happens if I change the width-to-height ratio?

Unlock the ratio and pick how the photo should fit: Crop fills the new shape and trims the edges, Fit + fill keeps the whole photo and fills the gaps with a colour you choose, and Stretch distorts it to the exact size.

Which formats are supported?

You can open JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF and BMP (and HEIC where your browser supports it) and save as JPG, PNG or WEBP. Exact KB targeting works with JPG and WEBP; PNG is lossless, so its size can't be targeted.

Is there a limit on how many images I can resize?

No. The tool is free with no sign-up and no daily limit.
