Law School Admission Test (LSAT) India 2026

The LSAT—India is a standardized test of reading and verbal reasoning skills designed by the US-based Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for use by law schools in India (prominently Jindal Global Law School).

1. Important Timeline (May Session)

  • Registrations: Opens as early as August 2025 and runs till May 2026.
  • Test Scheduling: Candidates pick their test slots.
  • Test Dates: Typically spans over a 3-4 day window in mid-May.
  • (Note: The exam is also usually conducted in a January session for early admissions.)

2. Test Administration

  • Format: Online, remote-proctored test from the candidate’s home.
  • Duration: 2 hours and 20 minutes (No break).
  • Structure: 92 questions measuring Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning (1), and Logical Reasoning (2).

4. Key Differences from CLAT

  • LSAT India has NO negative marking.
  • There is no Mathematics (Quantitative Techniques) or General Knowledge section.
  • The test purely evaluates critical thinking and reading skills. Preparing predominantly using official LSAC past questions yields the best mapping.
