3. Comprehensive Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• For SI Civil Police & Platoon Commander: A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent.
• For Fire Services Second Officer (FSSO): A Bachelor's Degree in Science from a recognized University.

Age Limit (As on 01 July of the recruitment year)

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 28 Years
• Relaxation: Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories who are native domiciles of Uttar Pradesh get a mandatory 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit (i.e., up to 33 years). Ex-Servicemen get 3 years (+ military service rendered).

4. UP Police SI Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The UP Police daroga recruitment is a grueling multi-stage process:

Stage 1: Online Written Examination (Computer Based Test)

The written exam consists of four major subjects. The paper contains 160 multiple-choice questions for 400 marks, with a duration of 2 hours (120 minutes).

• No Negative Marking: Historically, there is no penalty for wrong answers.

Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST) & Document Verification

Candidates who clear the written cutoff will be called to police reserve lines for height/chest measurements and checking of educational/domicile certificates.

Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

This involves a strict endurance run. You only get one chance.

• Male Candidates: 4.8 Kilometers in 28 Minutes.
• Female Candidates: 2.4 Kilometers in 16 Minutes.

Stage 4: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

Conducted by the UP Police Medical Board to check for flat feet, knock knees, varicose veins, squint eyes, color blindness, and hearing defects.

5. UP Police SI Salary & Pay Scale

• Pay Band: PB-2 (₹9300 - ₹34800)
• Grade Pay: ₹4200 (7th CPC Level 6)
• Basic Pay: ₹35,400
• Gross In-Hand Salary: Between ₹45,000 to ₹55,000 per month (Inclusive of Dearness Allowance, HRA, City Compensatory Allowance, Ration Money, and Uniform Allowance).
