The UP Police recruitment involves several elimination stages to ensure the candidate's fitness for uniform duty.

1. Written Examination: OMR-based offline test. 150 questions (General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical & Mental Ability, Mental Aptitude/IQ/Reasoning). Total 300 marks. 0.5 negative marks for wrong answers.
2. Document Verification (DV) & Physical Standard Test (PST): Verifying heights and chest measurements (for males).

   • Female (General/OBC/SC): Min Height 152 cm. Min Weight 40 kg.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
   • Male: 4.8 km run in 25 minutes.

UP Police Constables receive a decent starting salary based on the 7th CPC. The Grade Pay is ₹2,000, and the initial basic pay is ₹21,700. Including DA, HRA, and other allowances, the gross monthly salary ranges between ₹27,000 - ₹32,000, depending on the posting city.
