International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 2026

IELTS is the world's most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. It is co-owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English.

1. Test Versions

• IELTS Academic: Designed for candidates applying for higher education or professional registration in an English-speaking environment.
• IELTS General Training: For those going to English-speaking countries for secondary education, work experience, or migration (e.g., Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK).

2. Test Format

The test assesses four core language skills across 2 hours and 45 minutes:

• Listening: 30 Minutes (4 recordings).
• Reading: 60 Minutes (3 passages).
• Writing: 60 Minutes (2 tasks).
• Speaking: 11–14 Minutes (Face-to-face interview).
