Indian Army Agniveer Recruitment (CEE) 2026

The Indian Army conducts recruitment under the Agnipath scheme for the posts of Agniveer General Duty (GD), Agniveer Technical, Agniveer Clerk/Store Keeper Technical, and Agniveer Tradesmen.

1. Important Dates

• Online Registration Starts: February 13, 2026.
• Online Registration Ends: April 01, 2026.
• Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE): Tentatively scheduled to begin from April 22, 2026, onwards.

2. Selection Process Result

The Indian Army has transitioned to an online Common Entrance Exam (CEE) as the first stage of selection, replacing the old model where rallies happened first.

1. Phase I: Online CEE: A Computer Based Test. Candidates must pass this to be shortlisted for the next stage. Structure varies by trade (e.g., GD requires basic maths, science, and GK).
2. Phase II: Recruitment Rally: Shortlisted candidates are called for Physical Fitness Tests (PFT) and Physical Measurement Tests (PMT) at designated rally locations.
   • 1.6 Km Run: Passing in Group I (up to 5 min 30 sec) awards maximum marks. Group II (5 min 31 sec to 5 min 45 sec).
   • Beam (Pull Ups): Max marks for 10 pull-ups.
   • 9 Feet Ditch & Zig-Zag Balance: Qualifying.
3. Phase III: Medical Examination: Stringent medical board checking candidate fitness for armed combat.

3. Agniveer Salary and Benefits

Under the Agnipath scheme, candidates serve for 4 years.

• First Year: Monthly custom package of ₹30,000 (In-hand ₹21,000).
• Fourth Year: Monthly package of ₹40,000 (In-hand ₹28,000).
• Seva Nidhi Package: Upon completion of 4 years, an amount of approx ₹11.71 Lakhs (tax-free) is given.
• Up to 25% of Agniveers may be enrolled in the regular cadre of the Indian Army for a further 15 years based on organizational requirements.

5. Preparation Strategy

• CEE Preparation:
  • For General Duty (GD): Refer to Ram Singh Yadav books for previous year papers. Focus heavily on basic 10th-grade Maths and Science.
  • For Clerks: Excellent typing skills and English grammar knowledge are necessary.
• Physical Preparation: Do not wait for the CEE results. Start practicing the 1.6 km run daily to build stamina. Target bringing your time under 5 minutes 30 seconds to secure maximum marks in Group I, which helps in the final merit list.
