The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is a national-level management entrance examination conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) [SIU]. It is the mandatory first step for admission into the MBA/PGDM programs offered by the 16 institutes under Symbiosis International University, including prestigious B-schools like SIBM Pune and SCMHRD.

Unlike CAT or XAT, SNAP is heavily focused on speed and accuracy — featuring 60 questions to be solved in just 60 minutes.

3. The 'Best of Three' Attempts Rule

SIU allows candidates to take the SNAP test up to three times in the same year.

  • You must decide the number of attempts and pay for them during the initial registration.
  • The test fee (approx. ₹2250) is charged per attempt.
  • If you take the exam multiple times, your highest score will be automatically normalized and considered for shortlisting.

4. Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Minimum Marks: 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes).
  • Final Year Students: Candidates appearing for final year examinations can apply, provided they obtain the requisite percentage upon graduation.
  • Foreign Degrees: Candidates who have completed qualifying degrees from foreign universities must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

5. SNAP Exam Pattern & Syllabus

SNAP is a test of speed. There is no sectional time limit, allowing candidates to switch between sections as per their strategy.

  • Quantitative/DI: Arithmetic (Percentages, Profit & Loss, TSD), Algebra, Geometry, Probability, and basic Data Interpretation tables/pie charts.

7. How to Apply for SNAP 2026

  1. Visit the official website: snaptest.org.
  2. Click on "Register Now" and create your login ID (SNAP ID).
  3. Fill out the detailed application form and upload an updated passport-size photograph.
  4. Pay the SNAP Test Fee: ₹2250 per test attempt.
  5. Select Institutes & Programs: You must select the specific MBA programs you wish to apply for (e.g., SIBM Pune, SCMHRD).
  6. Pay Programme Registration Fee: ₹1000 per selected program.
  7. Submit the application.

8. Selection Process (GE-PIWAT)

Candidates who clear the SNAP cutoff for their applied institutes are shortlisted for the further evaluation round, which comprises:

  • Group Exercise (GE)
  • Personal Interaction (PI)
  • Written Ability Test (WAT)

Final Merit Calculation: SNAP Score (scaled to 50) + GE (10) + PI (30) + WAT (10) = 100 Marks.
