Indian Air Force Agniveervayu Recruitment 2026

The Indian Air Force conducts recruitment for Agniveervayu intakes (previously known as Airman Group X and Y) under the Agnipath scheme.

1. Important Dates

• Online Application Dates: Expected Feb 06 to Mar 04, 2026.
• Online Examination (Phase-I): Expected mid-May 2026.
• Admit Card Release: 48 to 72 hrs prior to the exam date on the portal.

2. Selection Process Result

1. Phase I: Online Test:
   • Science Subjects (formerly Group X): English, Physics, and Mathematics (10+2 CBSE syllabus). Total 70 marks, 60 minutes.
   • Other than Science Subjects (formerly Group Y): English, Reasoning, and General Awareness (RAGA). Total 50 marks, 45 minutes.
   • Both: English, Physics, Mathematics, and RAGA. Total 100 marks, 85 minutes.
   • Note: 0.25 negative marking for every wrong answer.
2. Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Adaptability Test:
   • Shortlisted candidates take the PFT (1.6 km run in 7 minutes, 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats).
   • Adaptability Test 1 & 2: Objective type written tests to assess suitability for employment in the IAF and adaptation to the military way of life.
3. Phase III: Medical Examination: Final medical test at designated IAF centers.

3. Salary and Terms of Service

• Enrollment under the Air Force Act 1950 for a duration of four years.
• Customized monthly package starting at ₹30,000 (with fixed yearly increments).
• Seva Nidhi Package: Approx. ₹11.71 Lakhs upon completion of 4 years.
• Opportunity for up to 25% of Agniveers to apply for regular cadre.

5. Preparation Strategy

• Science Subjects: Strictly follow 11th and 12th standard NCERT textbooks for Physics and Mathematics. For English, focus on grammar basics (parts of speech, active/passive voice, direct/indirect speech).
• RAGA (Reasoning & General Awareness): Practice non-verbal reasoning, series completion, and basic arithmetic. Keep up with current affairs of the last 6 months.
• Time Management: Speed is crucial. Practice high-quality mock tests available on the CDAC portal to get used to the exact CBT interface.
