SSC Stenographer Grade 'C' and 'D' Examination 2026
Staff Selection Commission (SSC) organizes the Stenographer Grade C and D exam to recruit stenographers for various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India.
1. Exam Schedule Details
- Advertisement Release: July 2026.
- Computer Based Examination: October/November 2026.
- Skill Test: Scheduled post CBT results.
2. Selection Scheme
- Computer Based Test (CBT): 200 Questions (General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50, General Awareness: 50, English Language & Comprehension: 100). Note that there is No Mathematics section.
- Skill Test in Stenography: Qualifying nature. Transcription speed of 100 w.p.m. for Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for Grade D.

4. Key Notes for Aspirants
- Start learning and practicing Shorthand (English/Hindi) well in advance, as acquiring the requisite speed takes significant time.
- English language carries the maximum weightage (100 marks) in the CBT.
