Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Assistant Recruitment 2026

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Assistant in various offices of the Bank. This is one of the most prestigious clerical cadre banking jobs in India, offering excellent salary and career growth.

RBI Assistant Vacancy 2026

A total of 650 vacancies have been announced for the year 2026. The vacancies are distributed across various RBI regional offices such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur & Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, and Thiruvananthapuram.

  • Release of Notification: February 15, 2026
  • Online Application Starts: February 16, 2026
  • Last Date to Apply Online: March 08, 2026
  • Online Preliminary Test (Tentative): April 10 & 11, 2026
  • Online Main Test (Tentative): May 15, 2026

Application Fee Details

The application fee is to be paid online.

  • SC/ST/PwBD/EXS: ₹50/- (Intimation Charges only)
  • GEN/OBC/EWS: ₹450/- (Examination fees + Intimation Charges) (Staff candidates are exempted from payment of examination fee and intimation charges).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
  • Important: Candidates applying for a post in a particular recruiting office should be proficient in the language (i.e., know to read, write, speak and understand the language) of the state/any of the states falling under the recruiting office.

Age Limit

  • Between 20 and 28 years. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02/02/1998 and not later than 01/02/2006 (both days inclusive).
  • Relaxation: SC/ST - 5 Years; OBC - 3 Years; PwBD - 10 Years.

Selection Procedure

  1. Preliminary Examination (100 Marks): English Language (30 Q), Numerical Ability (35 Q), Reasoning Ability (35 Q). Total time: 60 minutes.
  2. Main Examination (200 Marks): Test of Reasoning (40 Q), Test of English Language (40 Q), Test of Numerical Ability (40 Q), Test of General Awareness (40 Q), Test of Computer Knowledge (40 Q). Total time: 135 minutes.
  3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT): The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main on-line examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The LPT will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned.

(Note: There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary and Mains examination). 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted for each wrong answer).
